I have undertaken numerous projects with Community Groups and Organisations.

I teach community art workshops and have also developed multiple textile and art workshops for a diverse range of groups, including those with special educational needs.

I have also created art works and textile pieces for local events to mark special occasions. For example, in 2000 I worked with the teachers at Tarporley Primary School and parishioners from St Helen’s Church to create the textile millennium banner “Tree of Life”. Each child from the school was encouraged to embellish a felt leaf with beads and stitch. These were attached to a huge applique tree which I produced with a branch for each year group. This took months to oversee and was completed with the help of a team of creative volunteers.

This was followed by a banner for Tarporley Chapel. Felt pieces were given out to the congregation to cut into snowflake shapes. These were attached to a banner to highlight the unique differences that we all have.

During ‘lockdown’ in the summer of 2020, I was involved in the ‘Sunflower Art Project’. The resulting work by over 200 local residents can be seen framed at Tarporley Community Centre. In the winter of the same year, I collaborated with Tarporley Parish Council to design and hand-paint the Gingerbread house that is displayed every Christmas in the centre of the village.

I have since worked with a variety of community groups and in 2022 I took on the role of Tarporley’s ‘Artist in Residence’ for the duration of a large art initiative for the village. I developed a community project and encouraged  everyone to produce paper origami pieces, and wooden art pieces  that are due to be displayed in 2024.
